Free Gemini A.I.

A.I. features without your own API key!

Every MysterSmith subscriber (MINI, BASIC and PREMIUM) can use the Gemini-based A.I. features of the app without an own API key. These calls go through a shared Gemini key provided by MysterSmith, within daily limits:

  • MINI: 20 A.I. calls a day (at most 1 every 30 seconds)
  • BASIC: 40 A.I. calls a day (at most 1 every 15 seconds)
  • PREMIUM: 60 A.I. calls a day (at most 1 every 10 seconds), plus 10 image generations a day (at most 1 per minute)

The day is the UTC day (it starts at 00:00 UTC), and only successful calls are counted. What is left for today is shown in the app under Settings → A.I. FEATURES, and the messages of a free answer are marked with (FREE).

The free calls use fixed models: a fast Gemini Flash-Lite model for text, and Nano Banana 2 Lite for images. Your own model choices in the app only apply to your own key.

Your own Gemini API key comes first

If you have your own Gemini API key, the app uses it first. The free calls only step in when your key can't do the job:

  • its quota is used up (for example, image generation isn't available on Google's free tier), or
  • the key isn't valid.

So the free calls work as an automatic backup for your own key.

"Use FREE Gemini calls first"

Paying for your own key? Turn on Settings → A.I. FEATURES → Use FREE Gemini calls first: then the free calls go first, and your own key takes over when they run out or fail. This saves on your own key's costs, but keep in mind:

  • the free calls use a fixed model (your model choices don't apply to them),
  • the shared key can be slower or busy at times.

For the best quality, and to avoid any dependence on shared use, leave it off and use your own key.

Privacy

A free call goes through our server, with your MysterSmith username and PIN for the check. The content (text, image, sound) is passed to Google under the paid Gemini API terms, so Google doesn't use it to improve its products. We don't store the content: we only log the time, the feature, the model and the size of the call.

(With your own key on Google's free tier, Google may use what you send to improve its products.)

Disclaimer

FREE Gemini is an extra, provided "as is", without any guarantee of availability. The shared key is used by many performers at the same time: heavy use, Google's own rate limits, or outages can cause delays or failed calls, even while you still have free calls left for the day. The limits, the models, and the service itself may change or end at any time.

MysterSmith and its developer accept no responsibility for any failure, delay or consequence, including those during a live performance, arising from the use of the FREE Gemini service. When A.I. is essential to a routine, use your own Gemini API key: the free calls then serve as a backup.
